Hello. I’m new to this place,so apologies if this is not the right place to post? Friends of Wellfield Lane Park, in Hale is now into it’s third year and as we head towards the back end of summer and through to the autumn, there are some basic jobs that we could use more volunteers for – tidying up overgrown areas, painting the fence concrete posts white, bulb planting and so on. (We are also in the process of writing funding applications for next year.)
We are very open to company sponsorship of some of the work we are doing, and also donation of prizes and or help towards costs for our Community fun days that we try to hold at least once a year. There has been a request from residents to meet more regularly too.
In brief, what sorts of activities might companies volunteer to get involved with? I can place an advert but how best to proceed? for example, would companies be willing to sponsor a noticeboard, or a bench, a bin, a fun day, or part thereof?
Thanks in advance,
Sandra
ps Parks tend to be very restricted around what sort of work volunteers can do. Especially contracted work has to be via one of the council’s approved contractors. General tidying up seems to be less problematic.
