Give and Gain Day

On Friday 17th May Trafford Housing Trust, along with partner businesses took part in projects across Trafford for Give and Gain Day, the national Day of employee volunteering. Approximately 353 business volunteers from THT and partner businesses donated their time on Give and Gain Day in Trafford. This equates to around 2,118 volunteering hours in just one day. The volunteers tackled 9 large projects across Trafford – including taking over a high school for a day, kickstarting a project to develop a community farm, supporting unemployed people to become work-ready and transforming an old scout hut into a new community nursery. The day was supported by partner businesses through in kind donations and volunteering, from; Wates Living Space, Johnstones Paint, KP Dodd, Allied Roofing, FT Finlay, Build Base, Waitrose, Trafford Council, Siemens, Salford City Reds, Forever Manchester, Skipton Building Society, Casey Group, BBC Radio Manchester, P McGuiness PPG Architectural Coatings UK Ltd ER Williams. The links with the businesses will now be developed into longer term relationships through Thrive. Elaine Johnson, Director of Localities at Trafford Housing Trust said, “We were thrilled to take part in Give and Gain Day and make a real impact for Trafford communities. We couldn’t have done it without the in-kind support from the business partners.
