Sale Community Volunteers rallied together to serve up Christmas Spirit to local families in need

The Life Church in Sale worked in partnership with other local community and voluntary groups to rally up keen volunteers to serve up Christmas spirit and provide Christmas dinners to those in need over the festive period.

This was truly an amazing community effort, involving around 100 volunteers, plus the generosity of many more, who donated gifts & money to fund it. Altogether the Sale volunteers distributed 132 hot meals on Christmas day and gifts bags. Many of the nominated beneficiaries came from the local community, social prescribers linked to GPs, Sale Community Hub and Trafford Housing Trust and TDAS (for vulnerable families). The Life Centre used the M33 Facebook page to post information on how to nominate a neighbour and they collaborated with Sale Community Hub based at Our Sale West to promote to the Trafford statutory sector.

Many people from the community have got to know the Life Church through this volunteering activity & have experienced what the love of Christmas is as they delivered hot meals and gifts to 132 people who were vulnerable or alone on Christmas Day.

Suzanne Kelly, volunteer from the Life Church said: "We have had lots of very lovely feedback from people who received a lunch and volunteers about how pleased they were to be involved in this and from the comments it sounds as though we made a bigger difference to their Christmas Day than they could have imagined."
