The adidas Manchester Marathon is returning once more to the streets of Manchester & Trafford on Sunday 14 April with up to 32,000 runners raising much needed money for charity. If you want to be part of an exciting mass participation sporting event and support runners to raise millions of pounds for charities, then this is the role for you!

We need enthusiastic, proactive and practical individuals, who are prepared to be placed in a variety of roles at the event. We have lots of great volunteering roles available ranging from handing runners medals at the finish line or directing them to the start and much more!

Not only will you meet new people, learn new skills and gain different experiences, you’ll get lunch and a medal too. And after a fantastic day you’ll come away with a feeling of positivity knowing you’re helping others.

Volunteers aged 11 – 16 at the time of the event must EITHER be accompanied at the event by a parent or guardian.

What Skills Do You Need?

Great interpersonal and communication skills

Initiative

A willingness to work as part of a team

Enthusiasm and a pro-active attitude

A flexible approach

Be physically active as some areas of this role may involve some lifting, standing, walking about etc

Event roles include:

Meet and greet

Baggage drop off / collection area

Management of the start

Welcoming back runners into the finish area

Marshalling

Drinks Station

Your commitment to volunteering will only be one day – Sunday 14 April. Start and Finish timings and the length of your shift will vary depending on the role you are doing. On average shifts are a maximum of 7 hours and where a longer shift is required, the role is divided into 2 shifts.
