Summary of the Role
There are a range of roles available for all types of volunteer. Jobs can include assisting the Hope Centre team in keeping the Hope Pantry well stocked, clean and presentable, and being on hand to provide assistance to members with their shopping, needs and signposting them for other support. Some volunteers provide pastoral support and provide a listening ear. Volunteers may wish to combine this role with other roles such as driving/deliveries, or helping run free courses.
Main Tasks
- Helping to monitor stock levels and restock as needed.
- Assisting in unpacking deliveries, putting them away and accepting and logging donations.
- Assisting with membership queries and working alongside the Hope Centre Assistants to chat and support people in a friendly manner in line with our ethos and values.
- Keeping the Hope Centre looking clean, fresh and tidy in line with Health and Safety Regulations.
- Helping to support people from the community with their Hope Pantry shopping.
- Keeping local people informed of what’s going on and where to go for help.
- Assisting Hope Pantry staff in portioning dried and fresh items and bagging and labeling as required.
- To undertake training as required including a mandatory induction.
