Summary of the Role
We are one of six Community Hubs operating across Trafford. We work closely with Trafford’s health and social care teams, to provide support and access to services for local Stretford residents. Our Community Hub Helpers support the Hall with our crucial work in the Stretford community.
Tasks will mainly be based at Stretford Public Hall and surrounding space but there is scope for volunteering out in our community or at home depending on the task.
Tasks are most likely to occur during Monday-Friday during the daytime.
Main Tasks
Tasks you could be involved with:
• Telephone befriending for local residents.
• Help residents to get online
• Run an English Conversation Cafe chat session
• Help participants in support groups.
• Shopping and errands.
• Helping others with digital/technology.
• Visiting residents in their homes, e.g. to walk their dog, bring in groceries or help with a small task.
• Driving residents to appointments or outings.
Role requirements
• A friendly and positive attitude.

• A good listener.
• Respect for confidentiality.
• Team player; supporting and listening to other volunteers.
• Willing to learn.
