Community Capacity Building for Dementia – Trafford – 30th April 2015

In partnership with Alzheimer’s Society GMCVO is delivering a series of events that aim to encourage voluntary organisations to become more ‘dementia friendly’.

Content will include a ‘Dementia Friends’ session where attendees can learn a little bit more about what it's like to live with dementia and how to turn that understanding into action, practical guidance on how to improve buildings and spaces for people with dementia and potential sources of support and resources that voluntary organisations can access.
This will be a great introduction to organisations that have not engaged in dementia-related work before, although organisations with experience of supporting people with dementia are welcome to attend. We would particularly encourage organisations that manage community hubs, such as community centres, faith buildings or sports clubs to come along.

Lunch will be provided. Please let us know of any dietary requirements.
