Greater Manchester Youth Network Work with Thrive to Deliver a Workshop ‘Supporting Young Volunteers and Volunteers with Additional Support Needs’
Thrive is working with Greater Manchester Youth Network (GMYN) to ensure that Trafford based organisations can become part of the Greater Manchester Talent Match programme by offering volunteering opportunities.
Due to the demand and success and for those who could not make the last workshop Thrive and GMYN are running another workshop for Volunteer Manager’s on how to support volunteers with additional needs on Thursday 19th February 2015 at 10am to 1pm at Trafford Housing Trust, Sale Point, 126-150 Washway Road, Sale, M33 6AG.
The workshop will give participants the opportunity to identify the benefits and barriers of working with volunteers with additional support needs; identify the challenges faced by organisations within resourcing limitations and work on solutions; and identify areas for improvement and support from both Sue through Talent Match and Thrive.
It is also a great opportunity for attendees to network with others managing volunteers across Trafford and learn from the experience of others who are at different stages within their volunteer support journey.
The last session had a good mix of organisations in attendance including Trafford Community Leisure Trust, Touchdown Dance, Together Trust, Trafford Centre for Independent Living and Trafford Council.
