Halifax Volunteers help out at Manor High

Volunteers from Halifax Branches across South Manchester donated their time to Manor High School in Sale on Tuesday 9th July. The special school is looking to develop a new growing project called ‘Seeds of Success’ which will provide pupils with an opportunity to learn to grow fresh fruit and vegetables, and then cook with them. The Halifax volunteers helped to kick start the project by building and painting ten brand new raised beds. Despite the baking heat the volunteers did a great job, and the new planters look fantastic. Anthony Massey, teacher at Manor High said, ‘We are so grateful for the time the volunteers donated, it would have taken us weeks to achieve this alone but in just one day we managed to make a huge impact’.
