Residents Decide on Voluntary Sector Grants

Thrive Trafford delivered Trafford Council’s 2013-14 Voluntary Sector Grants which culminated in residents from across Trafford deciding which voluntary and community groups would receive the grants at four separate events on Saturday 22nd and Saturday 29th June. Local people and groups were asked to submit project ideas for innovative projects that would tackle the most challenging issues related to the four key themes of Adult Health & Wellbeing; Child Poverty; Community Safety & Crime and Employment, Skills & Volunteering. Thrive Trafford organised the four events at Sale Salvation Army, Altrincham Town Hall, George Carnall Leisure Centre and Stretford High School that were attended by over 520 residents of Trafford. In each area £40,000 was available, although in the South Locality £20,000 was allocated and the further £20,000 will be awarded in Autumn 2013. In total 41 projects received funding, with 28 of these groups being first time recipients of the grant funding. Please click here for further information.
