Save a Life & Give Blood – Tuesday 10th March

NHS Blood and Transplant is asking Trafford residents to save lives by giving blood.

A session will be held on Tuesday 10th March at the John Alker Memorial Hall in Flixton.

Blood donation centres will also be open across Greater Manchester throughout March, and NHS Blood and Transplant is encouraging local people to get involved and donate blood.

In particular, NHS Blood and Transplant are looking to maintain supplies of the universal blood group O Rh Negative – which is often in short supply because of its high demand – as well as rarer groups such as A Rh Negative, B Rh Negative and AB Rh Negative.

NHS Blood and Transplant ask that donors are fit and healthy, weigh over seven stone 12 lbs (50kg) and are aged between 17 and 66 (up to 70 if you have given blood before).

If you are over 70, you need to have given blood in the last two years to continue donating.

To book an appointment to donate visit blood.co.uk or call 0300 123 2323 to find your nearest session.
