Summer fun and activities for families across Trafford

Trafford's children's centres are going to be out and about participating in several summer community events over the coming weeks. Sale and Altrincham centres are going to be at fun days organised by the Sale West and Ashton upon Mersey Partnership (SWAP) at Sale West Community Centre, Newbury Avenue on 7, 14 and 21 August, between noon and 2pm, where there will be loads of information and activities for families with children 0-5. They will also be at Woodstock Park fun day in Broadheath on 12 August (noon-3pm) and Moor Nook Park, Sale Moor on 19 August between 2.30pm and 6pm. Over in Stretford and Old Trafford, children's centre staff will be at the Activities in the Park mornings at Lostock Park on Curzon Road on 6, 13, 20 and 27 August between 10am and noon. They will be at Hullard Park on Northumberland Road for their Activities in the Park, on 8, 15 and 30 August (12.30pm-2.30pm) Families are also being invited to a family fun day on St Bride's Field, behind Old Trafford Community Centre, between 11am and 4pm on Thursday, 22 August. In the west of Trafford, Partington and Urmston centres will be participating in a family event at Woodsend Community Fun Day on 15 August (11am-3pm). They will be hosting messy mornings at the Partington centre on 12 August and 27 August between 1.30pm and 3pm. The Urmston centre on Irlam Road in Flixton (previously Flixton and Woodsend Children's Centre) will be hosting and open day on 19 August (2pm-4pm) with face painting and other fun, free activities to be enjoyed! As well as these events, all Trafford's children's centres are also providing their usual array of parent and toddler groups, baby massage, stay and play, rhyme times, toddler gym, story time, breast-feeding support and a wide variety of opportunities for parents and carers to discuss any concerns they have with centre, health and social care staff. Anyone wanting specific details about any of these events, or what is available at their local children's centre, can contact Trafford Family Information Service on 0161 912 1053.
