Volunteering in Community Hubs Best Practice Event

Volunteering in Community Hubs Best Practice Event, 13 March 2014 10:00am – 15:30 pm Recognising volunteers are your most valued resource! Join us for a day dedicated to community centres and hubs to explore, question and share ideas and good practice on developing and managing your vision for volunteering at your centre or hub. The day will provide you with the opportunity to hear from community hubs and Volunteer Centres across Greater Manchester, with whom GMCVO and Volunteering Greater Manchester have been working with to review their practice involving volunteers. You can also be the first to see and explore the draft best practice toolkit through a series of active discussions and workshops and help to shape the final version. This section of the day will be asking how do you develop a joint vision and collaborative approach to volunteering? What are the many different roles volunteers can play and how to attract them? Is there a distinction between a person being a service user and a volunteer? The event is suitable for people responsible for managing volunteers in a community hub and/or developing your volunteering offer. It’s also appropriate for support organisations, like Volunteer Centres. To register for the event, please follow the link below: http://www.gmcvo.org.uk/civicrm/event/info?id=1847&reset=1 For further information on the content of the event then please contact alison.crush@gmcvo.org.uk, tel: 0161 277 1022
