Social Investment
Social investment is the use of repayable finance to help an organisation achieve a social purpose.
Trafford VCFSEs can use repayable finance to help increase their impact in Trafford’s communities, for example by growing their social enterprise, providing working capital for contract delivery, or buying assets.
Thrive Trafford is keen to support Trafford VCFSEs in accessing social investment, and can provide advice in relation to investment readiness support.
Thrive is connected to a range of social investors, including working in partnership with GM Social Investment and Charity Bank.
We aim to raise awareness of social investment as an alternative source of funding for Trafford VCFSEs, undertake promotional activities, and providing VCFSEs with access to social investment information and training opportunities.

Trafford Friendly Funders Partnership
Thrive Trafford facilitates a bi-monthly meeting of local funding partners to share information and best practice, avoid duplication, explore opportunities for collaboration, and attract inward investment.
The Trafford Friendly Funders Partnership also holds occasional Meet the Funder events to help promote or launch new funding opportunities and to provide the VCFSE sector in Trafford with information and funding skills development.
If you are a funder interested in joining the partnership or a VCFSE with ideas about what would be useful to include at future Meet the Funder events, please contact our Communications and Engagement Officer, Cheryl Higgins
