The Community Diagnostics Centres (CDC) Programme has provided a Community Engagement and Equalities Fund aimed at Improving the accessibility of services, improve patient experience of services and address health inequalities.
The purpose of the fund would be to support work that communities and representative groups feel will have the biggest impact. The initiatives funded would be developed by those groups, but might include:
Community engagement work to raise awareness of and/or build confidence in accessing CDC services.
Co-development of accessible information relating to CDC services.
Recommendations for practical changes to CDC services or facilities, removing barriers to access and improving patient experience.
Who can apply for funds?
To be eligible for the fund you need to be a non-profit organisation that is active within ‘the community’.
Applications will also be considered from organisations working in collaboration.
What sort of areas will be considered for funding?
We fund what is referred to as “Authorised Purposes”, being purposes, which have a benefit to ‘the prescribed community’ in accord with the CDC Equalities Fund objectives.
The fund would be available as small grants (up to £20K) with a focus on work to support:
People and communities who experience discrimination and/or disadvantage.
People and communities who experience disproportionate health needs.
People and communities who experience demonstrably poorer outcomes and/or experience of health and care services.
