Following an inspection in March 2019 the Children’s Services regulator, Ofsted, rated Trafford Council Children’s Social Care Services ‘inadequate’. The leadership of Trafford Council accepted the findings of the report and a series of measures were agreed to improve the services, including an Improvement Plan to outline the process for Children’s Services to complete the recommendations required by Ofsted.
There are 7 priorities for improvement with Early Help and Family Support, in particular, being an area where voluntary and community sector organisations are carrying out really valuable work. The Council is keen to make sure everyone is aware of the content of the Improvement Plan, which is available on the Council website. This Plan is monitored by an Improvement Board which meets every 6 weeks and updates from this are shared on the Council website too.
