“A social enterprise is an organization that applies commercial strategies to maximize improvements in human and environmental well-being – this may include maximizing social impact rather than profits for external shareholders.”
Thrive is supporting the establishment of social enterprises including providing advice to individuals, existing organisations, and new mutual/spin out opportunities working closely with Trafford Council Transformation & Resources.
Pulse Regeneration delivered the Social Enterprise Challenge Event in July last year , which was formulated to support social entrepreneurs with the start-up of new social enterprises in the Borough. Due to the demand and success of last year’s Challenge Thrive ran another Social Enterprise Challenge this September 2015. For more information about the programme and winners of the Challenge event please click here.
Social enterprises are also being supported through links to private sector peer mentoring opportunities through our work with businesses in Trafford.
