MANCHESTER MUM ORGANISES COMMUNITY EVENT IN MISSION TO IMPROVE YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
Emma Lenihan a Trafford Mum of 2, has organised RESET22 mental health event to bring the community together to make a change.

A mum of 2 from Trafford is hosting a free mental health event to bring together the community in a bid to tackle children’s mental health. The free event, which she organises annually will take place on Friday 30th September at Stretford Mall.

The aim of the day is to bring together children, parents, and careers, as well as service providers to share the work that is being done across Greater Manchester to improve mental health services for children and young people.

Mum, Emma Lenihan, started up company Calm Connections* who run the annual event after struggling with her own son’s mental health support.

Emma said, “RESET22 provides the perfect opportunity for families and services to network and find out what support is available. It also showcases the fantastic and innovative work happening in Trafford and Greater Manchester.

At a time when so many young people and their families feel let down and alone with children’s mental health, we can create the opportunity to make a difference in what organisations and services provide by hearing what they have to say.”

The theme of this year’s event is “see me – hear me – know me”.

Building on previous success, this community based, public facing event will follow four key elements.

The main conference, which will include a series of presentations about new initiatives that are supporting and improving the mental health & wellbeing of our young people in Trafford. As well performances that will share the voice of young people and parents and carers.

The event will also host workshops to share a community voice of some of the challenges and successful good practices out there.

There will also be an exhibition of organisations that support CYP Mental health across Trafford to share their service offers to visitors of the event and the Mall. As well as “100 voices”, artwork presentations showcasing the voice of young people and parents/ carers from across Trafford and Greater Manchester, as well as on the day art and craft activities that visitors can get involved with.
