Trafford Council’s Council Tax Support Consultation – Have Your Say

Trafford Council are proposing to change its Council Tax Support (CTS) scheme. The Council are proposing to consult with the public on minimal changes to the scheme to ensure that:

a) To remove the minimum award of £5 per week meaning all awards would be paid regardless the value
b) Abolish the non-dependant deduction for young adults (18-24 years of age) in receipt of benefits, out of work, or on apprenticeships
c) To treat a Universal Credit (UC) notification from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) as a claim for CTS

A consultation is underway to seek opinion on the proposed changes to the Council Tax Support Scheme (CTS) from 2019/20. The consultation will run until 5 October.

The proposed changes in this consultation will not affect people of state pension credit age.

The Council is keen to hear your views on the proposed change and would be grateful if you would complete the survey by Clicking Here. The survey should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. Responses to the questionnaire are anonymous and will not be passed on to third parties.
